The Marble Mountains at a glance
The Marble Mountains are a cluster of hills by the coast near Da Nang, an easy stop between the city and Hoi An. The main area is Thuy Son, which has caves, pagodas and viewpoints reached by stone steps. A second area, Am Phu, sits at the foot of the hills and has its own ticket.
Most visitors need two to three hours for Thuy Son and Am Phu together. The lift saves some climbing, but it does not replace all the stairways between the caves, pagodas and lookouts. The site is not barrier-free, so people with limited mobility should plan carefully.

Marble Mountains ticket prices in 2026
Reference prices from a January 2026 price table, not a promise for the day you visit. The elevator fares come from a local guide (August 2026). Check at the ticket window.

Caves, pagodas and viewpoints
Thuy Son is where you spend most of your time. Caves such as Huyen Khong lie in this area, and the paths link them with pagodas and lookouts. From the viewpoints you can see the coast, as in the photo here. Am Phu is a separate cave area at the foot of the hills.
The stone steps can be slippery when wet. Wear shoes with good grip and bring water. Which caves are open and how easy each is to reach can change, so go with a flexible plan. Dress modestly at the pagodas.

How to get to the Marble Mountains from Hoi An
The distance is about 20 km (12 mi). Travel times are estimates and vary with rain and traffic.
By scooter or motorbike taxi
A local guide gives 30 to 35 minutes along the coast road. If you rent a scooter, parking near the entrance is listed at VND 5,000โ10,000.
By car or tour
A taxi, Grab or hotel transfer works as well. Several tours include the mountains. One combined My Son and Marble Mountains day tour from a local operator lasts about 11 hours and includes entrance fees, lunch and one elevator ride, but that is the contents of one product. Compare what each tour includes. See also My Son Sanctuary.

Time and tips
Allow 2 to 3 hours for Thuy Son and Am Phu together. Start early, since the 07:00โ17:00 window is the listed time for visits. Wet stone steps are slippery, and October and November are the wettest months in the Da Nang climate norm. See our Hoi An weather page before you choose a day.
If you go on north towards Hue, the Hai Van Pass is covered by the Hue guide. For more ideas near Hoi An, see our things to do in Hoi An list, or if you prefer a beach afternoon, read about An Bang Beach.
